A faucet program is a body, cartridge and finish system

For an OEM or ODM program, a faucet is more than an exterior shape. The brass body, cartridge interface, inlet and outlet geometry, handle fit, finish preparation and assembly stack must work as one system. Common failure causes include casting porosity, unsuitable cartridge tolerances, weak substrate preparation, loose mechanical interfaces and incorrect installation connections.

WUGONG manages faucet engineering and production coordination in the Xiamen sanitary-ware cluster. Depending on the program, brass casting, CNC machining, injection molding, tooling and assembly are performed through reviewed manufacturing partners under a shared drawing, bill of materials and validation plan. These partners are not presented as WUGONG-owned factories; WUGONG's role is to coordinate the engineering interfaces, evidence package and production handoff.

Manufacturing scope

The following capabilities can be combined for a faucet program:

• Brass body and valve-housing casting — body geometry, wall sections and machining allowance are reviewed before tooling.
• CNC machining — threads, sealing faces, cartridge seats, shafts and handle interfaces are machined to the drawing requirements.
• Injection-molded parts — handles, covers and functional polymer parts can be developed with the molding and tooling partner.
• Tooling and samples — proprietary body or handle geometry can move from drawing review to prototype tooling, samples and production tooling.
• Assembly coordination — the body, cartridge, seals, handle, trim and optional electronics are checked as a complete build rather than as unrelated purchased parts.

Alloy grade, lead content, plating system, coating thickness, corrosion-test duration, cartridge brand and lifecycle target are defined for the finished model and market. They are not universal specifications for every WUGONG-managed faucet program.

OEM, ODM or private label

• OEM — your drawings, cartridge specification or sensor module define the product. Drawing ownership, tooling ownership and change control are agreed in the project contract.
• ODM — an existing body and cartridge platform is adapted through finish, handle design, interface, branding and packaging.
• Private label — an existing model is evaluated for your market, brand and packaging with limited product changes.

The correct route depends on which interfaces you need to own and how much validation or tooling change the finished model requires.

Engineering inputs to confirm before tooling

• Body drawing or platform reference, including mounting format and inlet/outlet layout.
• Cartridge type, flow and mixing requirements, lifecycle target and ownership.
• Material and drinking-water requirements for the destination market.
• Handle, trim and finish direction, including the applicable corrosion test.
• Sensor range, power supply and electronics responsibility for sensor faucets.
• Packaging, installation instructions, spare parts and field-service requirements.

Confirming these inputs before tooling reduces late changes to the body, cartridge seat, finish process and certification sample.

Sample validation and production evidence

A project validation plan should identify the finished configuration, test method, acceptance criteria and responsible party. Depending on the faucet, this may include:

• dimensional inspection of sealing, thread, cartridge and mounting interfaces;
• pressure, leakage, flow and endurance testing;
• material declarations and drinking-water-contact evidence;
• finish adhesion, corrosion and appearance checks;
• assembly inspection, packaging verification and traceability records.

Reference values are not published as universal results. The evidence pack must match the actual model, material, factory, test conditions and target market.

Standards, labels and market access

These programs have different scopes and should not be treated as interchangeable certifications:

• cUPC — a third-party certification and listing route for applicable plumbing products assessed against the relevant US and Canadian standards and codes. The applicable product standard and listing must be confirmed for the finished model.
• WaterSense — a US EPA efficiency label available to eligible private lavatory faucets and faucet accessories. It does not automatically apply to kitchen faucets, public lavatory faucets or every low-flow faucet.
• WRAS Approval — one model-specific route for demonstrating compliance with UK water-fitting requirements. Approval scope, materials, installation notes and validity must be checked for the exact model.
• CE marking — applicable only when the finished product falls under relevant EU legislation or an applicable conformity route. It is not a universal faucet certification.
• WaterMark — required in Australia for plumbing products that fall within the mandatory WaterMark scope; the product type and applicable specification determine the route.
• ISO 9001 — a quality-management-system standard for an organization, not approval of an individual faucet.

Frequently asked questions

Is WUGONG a faucet manufacturer or a trading company?

WUGONG manages faucet product engineering, supplier coordination, validation and production handoff. Casting, CNC, molding, tooling and assembly are assigned to reviewed manufacturing partners according to the project; these factories are not represented as WUGONG-owned.

Can you manufacture our body drawing or use our cartridge?

Yes, when the drawing, tolerances, ownership and validation requirements are defined in an OEM scope. Compatibility is confirmed on the finished sample before production release.

Does WaterSense apply to every faucet?

No. The current faucet category covers eligible private lavatory faucets and accessories. Kitchen and public lavatory faucets are outside that category and require a different market-access review.

Which alloys, finishes and test values are available?

They are selected per model and market. The quotation and sample plan should identify the alloy or lead-content requirement, finish system, test method and acceptance criteria.
